AIBU to have liked to get an easter egg?

Yes there is much more to life than presents, and I do not give to receive, however I would have like to have got just one easter egg.

It is the same every birthday, easter, valentines day, christmas and mothers day. DH either says, "oh I forgot", or "I wish I had sorted out something now, I feel bad you didn't get anything."

It probably seems silly, but just a little something would be nice. Half of me feels tempted to "forget" or "not get round to" getting him something next time, but I am not really that petty.

I am however eyeing up the childrens eggs, DH has eaten all his greedy pig

get one today in the sale on thorntons or hotelchocolat etc website

That's not the point, lolajane!

OP, your husband is really selfish. He enjoys getting a present - his face lights up when he gets one - so why can't he see that you feel exactly the same?

Bad enough that you don't get an Easter egg, but no Christmas or birthday present? That is really awful.

And now he's eaten his bloody egg!

I think you need to sit him down and have a really strong word with him. It's just not acceptable for him to be so thoughtless.

I didn't get one either. I bought my own Xmas present as I knew he'd not manage anything much. My last birthday, though, he really made up for it by giving me a mixer, which I'd always wanted, and it is a thing of beauty and delight (especially as the cat now thinks that perching on the top of it has turned her into the Queen of all she surveys Grin and yes I do clean it before I use it!).

Today dh went out to get more milk and came home saying he'd got me a present. Luckily, I wasn't fooled as he gave me a pair of Marigolds. Oh, how we laughed. Hmm

My DH wouldn't think to get me one without my subtle hints.
" I don't mind which Hotel Chocolat egg you get me darling, you decide".

Sorry I have not been back sooner, have not had chance to sit my arse down for a second today.

Thank you everyone I feel a bit less silly about feeling a bit grumpy about not getting anything. I don't really care about the "egg" as such, it is more that there was no thought again.

I think I may have to be a bit firmer with the hints....

sorry i meant she should get double the amount today at half price. tbh i wouldnt buy him one and let him sulk next year.

I agree, it is the thought and the fact that a small effort has been made. I didn't get one from DH even though I got him one. I have been really mad about it and spent the last 2 days wondering if it is grounds for divorce especially as I have raging PMT and NEED chocolate for medicinal purposes. At least I got one as my mum bought it for me.
