To want to tell you about a lovely thing that happened to me one Easter

When my DS was a toddler I got a nice little part-time job in the kitchen of a senior citizen's day centre - making custard, mopping floors etc.

The nice bit wasn't the making of the custard, it's that there was a rota of voluntary helpers from the club helping in the kitchen every day - all between 65 and 90.

All of them, male and female, were lovely and would chat to me about their grandchildren and ask about my little one.

Easter came around and on the day before Good Friday I had a steady stream of OAPs coming to me with an Easter egg that they'd bought for my DS - that not one of them had ever actually met!

We got 18 :) And no, I'm truly not exaggerating.

Best job I have ever had, all because of those lovely souls.

Just wanted to share - Easter always reminds me of this.

Yanbu to share.

That's lovely. You've taken the time to listen to them and they've obviously appreciated that. The number of eggs reflects your kindness and that why bibbity got none.

Well this isn't quite as sweet as the other stories but I'm going to share it anway.... Blush

My Dad came to Easter Sunday dinner a couple of years ago and gave us a present of a candelabra.

I thought 'oh how lovely, that's not the normal sort of gift my Dad would choose'

Then he told us that he'd been to the British Legion the night before and won the raffle. The music was loud and my Dad (almost 80yrs) is quite deaf anyway.

The lady said "which prize would you like to choose?"

My Dad said "what is there to choose from?"

The lady said "Vodka, Wine or the candelabra"

My Dad said "Thanks love, I'll take the cans of lager then"

He nearly died when he realised his mistake and just took it whilst trying to look delighted with his prize Blush Grin

Brilliant post Croc.

For me it is proof that people are great and often we only discover that greatness when we give of ourselves.

I love people.[bugrin]

Thank you to CrockofDuck and AgentZigZag. On Friday I prayed to God for help. I actually said 'I am not greedy but please help me for the mortgage money. I asked him to help me what I needed not a penny more. He came through. Still in shock.
