To hope it pisses down in the morning so I can tell the DC the easter bunny had to leave the eggs inside?

Because the alternative is me having to sneak out of bed at six am so I have time to run around the garden in my slippers and nightie, to make a trail of easter eggs before they wake up!

If it rains, or if I assume it will, I can hide all the eggs around the house tonight and tell the DC the easter bunny left their eggs indoors because he didn't want them to get wet Smile. And I can have a little bit of a lie in.

Why oh why did I start these traditions when the DC were born? And why do they remember them every years Confused

DN is staying. We have no traditions, but he will be eating bright blue boiled eggs for breakfast. Then back to his other aunt's house where there's of the in laws are staying for a treasure hunt to find his egg.

Dniece will also get an egg, but as she has severe ASD she isn't expected to provide constructive help in solving clues. Her contribution is to run around with us and giggle - she's good at that! At 4.6 dnephew is old enough to find "the green bush with pink flowers" and "postman pat has delivered me" I hope?

Grin Pidj is not more excited than the dc at all. No sir, not me

In the UK easter eggs were for forced consumption in front of the tv. No easter bunny, thankyouverymuch.

Came to Australia, lots of hype about the "Easter Bilby". Well, says I to DD (7 at the time) - you know he doesn't exist, Mummy buys your eggs.

Now I have to lay a trail and hide the eggs though not in the garden because the crows/kookaburras think it's for them bastards. It's even got so I wrote a little poem and tied it with ribbon explaining the eggs were in the house and which coloured boxes each dc was to look for.

I will do an Easter egg hunt, with a few little eggs like creme eggs, hid them last night in empty plastic egg things I got from pound land

McHappyPants2012 · 08/04/2012 10:08

All the other eggs was in the table in an old baby basket

Well, I got up at 7 to hide the big eggs round the house (children knew I was doing that) and then the Easter bunny hid all the little ones all over the garden. Managed to delay that until 8 am so as not to terrorise the neighbours too much.

Next hunt will be when we got to my mums this afternoon [busmile]. I love Easter [bugrin] and so do the children.

our easter bunny leaves a trail of sweets and mini eggs etc from the childrens bedroom door down the stairs and into the living room and then all their eggs are hidden around the living room and playroom for them to find. I like this because i can do it once they are asleep the night before as long as i remember the line of sweets across the landing and dont tread on the all if i go to the toilet in the night!
