That is from a former angler who used to spend most free evenings fishing off the local pier and every weekend traipsing over rocks/shinnying down 50ft cliffs to fish. Plus, I used to keep in with the local fishmonger/tackle shop and travel down to the nearest trawler harbour to see what catches the had in.

physallis?

is that physalis the plant?

However, if it's syphilis then based on what you must be doing to your fish, I'm never coming to dinner at your house!

For some reason I can't totally remember. I think it's something about the stomach killing any harmful parasites/worms, so, going by that, you could assume it would be safe to eat seabass which hadn't been gutted IYSWIM.

Avenged · 07/04/2012 22:39

Well, no need to worry ladies. I have eaten plenty of fish (I'm alive and kicking) and any I have caught myself (including seabass) have been gutted as soon as they're off the hook.

Did you know that conger eels have a slimy coating which enables them to be out of water for roughly 6-8hrs? Also, the skin on conger eels are supposed to make good protective dressings from small to medium sized wounds.

You see, you learn something new every day. Bet you'll all sleep better tonight Wink.

You could cover them in cotton wool, go to a local farm, stick them on one of the Lambs and sit back and wait for the resulting news story.
