To spend £90 on a runner for our hall?

It's lovely but I wonder if £90 is a bit too much and have lost perspective after trawling the internet for one all evening!

If you love it and can afford it, you should get the runner; you'll use it and see it many times every day.

Confuseddd · 06/04/2012 20:04

That's what I paid for ours

IAmBooyhoo · 06/04/2012 20:05

YABU to spend any money on a floor covering for a hall that isn't either plastic or machine washable. Grin

link please? our runner has completely had it and have been searching everywhere for one long enough, and in the right colours. and no i think £90 is fine, ours was £70 odd and that was years ago

JsOtherHalf · 06/04/2012 20:10

It depends on how much you love it? And how much money you have to spare?

Have you had a look on amazon for some other options?

Birdylade · 06/04/2012 20:25

It's this malmaison one from Laura Ashley in duck egg

Should be £150 though so good reduction, depends if you're going to have muddy feet on it all the time too it would be filthy in my house quickly.

ooh it is beautiful. wouldn't last 10 minutes in my house. Sad

OP do you have dc or pets? do you wear shoes indoors?

Birdylade · 06/04/2012 20:32

It will go upstairs where we have a no shoes rule otherwise it would get wrecked within days!

WorraLiberty · 06/04/2012 20:33

Ohhh not a 118 runner then? Blush

FredFredGeorge · 06/04/2012 20:34

What's a runner and why does a hallway need one?

Ah I see a link now - it appears to be a rug, 90quid for a quality rug is not that unreasonable assuming it's within the general cost of the house, personally I wouldn't - it also says 150quid on the link I can see...

Birdylade · 06/04/2012 20:36

It's the duck egg one which is on offer. What's a 911 runner?!

mythical · 06/04/2012 20:38

It's lovely! We have a woven stripy cotton thing the dog loves to slide on :-) that would get wrecked in days!
this

Birdylade · 06/04/2012 20:39

Mythical - love that stripey one!

Oh that's beautiful Birdy, Yanbu. :)

southeastastra · 06/04/2012 20:42

we got a cheapy ikea one for £20 we get through at least one a year though being dirty buggas

scuzy · 06/04/2012 20:48

if you like it and can afford it, it aint rocket science.

SootySweepandSue · 06/04/2012 20:52

I have the red version...it doesn't show the dirt although it is darker I think the design helps in hiding marks. I have the large rug too which my daughter plays on. They sell well on eBay even when used so if you change your mind you'll get a bit of money for it. They have also dry cleaned well.

LaurieFairyCake · 06/04/2012 20:55

I've got the large duck egg one. I machine wash it every 8 weeks and it's been totally fine for 2 years so far. Smile

SootySweepandSue · 06/04/2012 21:06

That's encouraging FairyCakes. I Think I may have handwashed mine at some point but it must have been winter as I couldn't get the damn thing to dry!

nightowlmostly · 06/04/2012 21:20

It is lovely, if it's upstairs with no shoes on it I would go for it.

YANBU!

Dawndonna · 06/04/2012 21:56

That's lovely. Good taste OP!
