...to ask you, who do you think is beautiful?! (no, Sam Brick - you are not so don't even try to say you are!)

...following on from the delusions of Sam Brick who, is not, in my - or many people's eyes - a 'beauty', then who is?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder of course, but some people are just so universally damn gorgeous!

I think...

Women
Monica Belluci
Nicole Sherzinger
Christina Hendricks
Brighter Bardot (in her heyday)
Gina Lollabrigida (in her heyday)
Racquet Welsh
Halle Berry
Beatrice Dalle
Sherilyn Fenn

To name a few!

Men

Brad Pitt
Eddie Cahill (CSi NY programme)
Antonio Banderas

There are others who will come to mind eventually!

What about you?!

Audrey Hepburn without doubt.
And she was beautiful from the inside too, her work as a UN ambassador before it became the fashionable thing to do, her love of children and her eyes.
Beautiful men, Usain Bolt.

Can't believe no one has mentioned Tom Hardy yet, he is stunning. Also Michael Sheen, Tom Hiddleston (sp?), Idris Elba and Eric from true blood. Beautiful women would be Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly,Cate Blanchett, Natalie Portman and Angelina (although I agree she was better with a bit more meat on her, back in the Lara croft days)

Are these all beautiful people though or just people we find attractive? People we find attractive is a subjective thing therefore not an accurate measure of true beauty.

I'm sure looking at it from a scientific angle it is to do with facial symmetry (and probably youth). Out of the women mentioned I bet Miranda Kerr has good symmetry and Kate Moss (in her heyday). I don't believe Sam Brick possesses good symmetry but I can see that like the rest of us she would be attractive to some people.

I do not have good facial symmetry and have never been chased down the street by admirers Sad

hackmum · 06/04/2012 20:01

Probably stating the obvious here but a lot of the Hollywood actresses benefit from just having good make-up, a good stylist and favourable camera angles. Kate Beckinsale went to Hollywood looking like an ordinary pretty girl; after a year she was stunning. Catherine Zeta Jones went the same way. Even if you look at pictures of Angelina Jolie when she was young, she was very pretty but not the great beauty she became.

Anyway, just saying.
