My quarterly statement is due and I'm currently sitting at £405 in credit...they mucked my meter readings up when I moved house so doubled my direct debit, just wondering if I could claw that back, since it's going into "summer" (currently snowing here!!) x

Fuck Scottish Power, they sold me their platinum FIXED price plan until 2014, within 4 fucking months they put the direct up by 50% to £150 a month.

Useless greedy bastards, as far as I am concerned they mis-sold me that fantastic fucking price plan

am going to switch and also complain - don't see why I should be paying bank charges because of them...

DressDownFriday · 16/05/2012 18:51

They gave me an automatic refund of £78. I think it depends on when your year end is. Mine goes from May to May.

Givingupmyjob · 16/05/2012 18:53

They will return the money, it's yours. Plus the direct debit is yours too and so if you want to set it at a much lower level than the utility company recommends then that is completely up to you. You might then find you have a bill to pay if your direct debit hasn't covered your monthly usage but that's up to you

I hate overpaying utility companies. They have your money sat in their bank account earning interest. Definitely get a refund. I stopped my direct debit for this reason and save what I used to pay them monthly and pay the bill in full when it arrives. Sod the discount I'd rather have my money in my bank until it's due.

kelly25 a fixed price plan means the price you are charged for elec or gas is fixed. Not your dd.

The unit price will stay the same but your usage will vary, so will your bills.
