to think the mop head should be washed seperatly and not with dd1's bedding?

This is the mop head we use for the bathroom floor or the downstairs wood floor where the dogs brings in mud etc on her paws.

My husband says it doesn't matter, it all gets drained off.

Aibu to think he is being disgusting. The mop head should be washed by it's self (if for no other reason than to stop the hairs transferring onto our clothes)

Today I found the mop head chucked in with dd1's bedding. IMO this needs to stop but other than banning him from doing any washing I don't know what else to say to him.

We have the same mop, with a few extra heads to switch out as needed. I rinse them in the laundry tub right after I use them, to get the bits off, and the worst of the dirt out, then throw them in with the bath mats and the throw rugs.
Never had an issue...

The only washing that my mop head gets is when it's dunked in the cleaning solution before it's used...

YANBU. I would never put a mop in with bedding, the mop would have a separate quick wash if it needed to go in the machine.

My mop is the same as yours in shape but isn't microfibre. It is washed out with floor cleaner solution in a bucket then rinsed in clean water when the floors are done each week, it doesn't go in the machine often.

ermmm - a wash has to be done at 70C for it to kill most of the GERMS.. especially if you use a modern bleach-free washing detergent for sensitive skin (enzyme free - non bio).. it may look clean, but there will be germs from the floor mop on the bedding if it is washed together.... yeukkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!

No way would I wash dishcloths or floor mops with kids bedding.... they get done separately with bleach to kill the germs.

Well, I'm not the cleanest chicken in the coop, but I wouldn't do that. YANBU.

I have that mop, it's fab! It goes in with anything that is being washed because the washing machine cleans everything that is in it. Or have I missed something? Grin
