I'm watching tv with dd and I've started noticing what I'm perceiving as double entendres and other rudeness in the shows.

The cat in the hat always contains the phrase "flick the jiggermawizzer!"

The octonauts had kwazii claiming he needed to "polish his spyglass"

In the night garden had upsy daisy being covered in mucky stains.

Is it real? Are these shows fitting in naughty stuff for us adults or aibu?

It's like the pantomime isn't it?

I've been every year since I can remember and I can't believe how smutty they are. I was maybe 14 or 15 when I started understanding the ruder jokes, and there are dozens of them in there!

I know isn't a children's show, but I have laughed so much at it Grin

LOL @ BJ!

See, our kids always ask me what I'm laughing at when I see an innuendo- and I haven't really grown out of seeing them near everwhere -but when they ask i just tell them I think that the story / whatever is funny and leave it at that. I seem to be getting away with it for now!

My husband swears that Mr Bloom's compostarium is a home brew kit.

AutumnSummers · 01/04/2012 13:01

He says that it's not a composter but a home brew kit and that's why he talks to vegetables!

VegimalStyle · 01/04/2012 17:14

I always thought he was just growing some interesting "herbs"...

Mister maker is definitely on something. Have you seen how red his eyes are and how hyperactive he is? I keep looking for white powder traces around his nostrils!

oldsilver · 01/04/2012 17:25

Have you seen the In The Night Garden episode where Iggle Piggle tries to help Upsy Daisy into his carriage on the Ninky Nonk ... It sooooooooooooo looks like she's giving him a blowy, DP and I cry with laughter everytime we saw it - just watching her head bob up and down Grin

ABatInBunkFive · 01/04/2012 17:29

Balamory is full of it, Miss Hoolie and PC Plum really need to get a room!

VegimalStyle · 01/04/2012 17:41

Have you seen the balamory with the pantomime horse? Archie says "I'll take the rear"

oldsilver in the night garden scares the crap out of me! I've only seen a few and that's enough, but I've heard lots of people say it's full of filth!

Kids' TV shows have been slipping this sort of stuff under the radar for decades LOL!

BettyBaggins · 29/04/2018 19:25

They do it on purpose to make parents watch too.
