DS was ebf, but now he'd 6months we're bottle feeding in the day, plus well into our solids.

So when we leave the house I have 4 flasks. Two hot flasks for making bottle and warming food, two cold for cooling bottle and keeping food cold. Bottles, Plus spare clothing, finger food, nappies, wipes etc.

Is this a reasonable amount, or is there some trick I'm missing out on?!

But its good to be prepared in case, for whatever reason, I can't get home to feed him.

you could just breastfeed him in those circs.

but it sounds like you are anxious and covering all bases. i know nothing about anxiety and so can't say whether giving in to those feelings is good or bad.

but i will say don 't be so hard on yourself. carting around lots of flasks isn't the worst thing in the world.

If he's feeding every 5 hours though - why do you need 4 flasks - ten hours are unlikely to have them warm enough?h

I never took bottles for most trips, only if I was going for many hours before 6 months, after 6 months never, if DD got hungry when I was out, I'd buy some food for her. Even before I never took hot flasks, DD was always happy drinking milk that was still cold, even at home it was only warmed up enough to have the fat not seperate.

Maybe I just never went that long away from home with DD, but I rarely took more than a single nappy and some wipes.

Wow you sound waaaay overloaded. I would either try & introduce room temperature milk so you can get one of the powder dispensers or better still cartons for out & about. Bar rice cakes/raisins, I never really bothered with specific baby food & would just buy yogurt/sandwich/soup etc whilst I was out (but that was more to do with sheer laziness than being forward thinking & hip BLW.)
