What?

AKMD · 30/03/2012 09:47

I dunno, I've filled my bath up to the brim with cold water. No one can shower but we aren't going to be caught out by a water shortage, oh no.

EdithWeston · 30/03/2012 09:48

Think of what? The different reaction?

Well, I suppose it's because more people remember 2000 than 1976.

whatsallthefuss · 30/03/2012 09:48

the queues at the pumps, they arent even going on strike yet, just threatening it. Popele feel threatened and adjust thier behaviour

the water shortages, havent really promted a response in a change in behaviour and that is a REAL threat, the resevoiurs are empty.

i just wonder about the difference in the behaviour

In all seriousness, when people turn on their taps they expect to see water coming out. TV footage of muddy water in a reservoir somewhere does not have the same immediate impact as the fuel indicator in your car sliding onto red. Water shortage = water companies' and the government's problem. They aren't going to let people die of thirst. Fuel shortage = my problem.

StealthPolarBear · 30/03/2012 09:54

Right I need fuel either today or tomorrow. Filling up today or tomorrow would e my normal pattern. Am I allowed or will I be panicking nd contributing to the crisis? Hmm

dreamingofsun · 30/03/2012 09:54

because water shortage = hosepipe ban; petrol shortage = husband not getting paid or having to stay away in a B&B
