to think all wasps should be exterminated

They scare the living daylights out of me.
If we are out and i see one my mouth dries up and i feel physically sick and the day is ruined.
I am properly terrified of them and would happily just stay in all day if i thought there could be wasps outside

Wasps definitely need exterminating. I got stung last year, it was agony, and this confirmed my thoughts that they are the work of the devil.

I really don't see the issue with wasps. They go away if you wave vaguely at them, and on the whole don't sting. I can't remember the last time I saw someone stung by one. If you flap about and move a lot and make a lot of noise then they are bound to be a little surprised/defensive. They're always trying to get to food so their motivations are pretty clear.

Daddy-long-legs, on the other hand, SHOULD be exterminated. Their great long traily legs give me the creeps, and they fly in such an insane manner, and they turn at the last minute and GO FOR YOUR FACE. Wasps are infinitely preferably.

YANBU. They are evil, I've been stung three times and not once was I swiping. The last time was in January this year and it was freezing. Bastards they are.

ohyouBadBadkitten · 27/03/2012 17:01

Evil giraffe, they obv don't hate you. I reckon I must be on some wasp hit list.

sandyballs · 27/03/2012 17:07

How can a wasp sting be described as agony Shock

Waspie · 27/03/2012 17:08

Feeling a bit victimised. I may have to go and sit in a corner

Can I just say that I love puds11's contribution to this thread.

More of the pro-wasp PR!

ohyouBadBadkitten · 27/03/2012 17:11

They are when they are in your armpit sandy balls.

MummyDoIt · 27/03/2012 17:14

It is NOT true that they won't sting you if you leave them alone. I was once stung on the hand by one when I was sitting perfectly still, reading a book. I didn't even know the wretched thing was there until it stung me!

Is it my imagination or are they bigger this year than usual? There was one in my bathroom earlier today and it was enormous!

rogersmellyonthetelly · 27/03/2012 17:14

Yanbu. I know they are prolly very ecologically important and all that shit but I hate the vicious little bastards with a vengeance. I happily usher flies and bees out of my house with a magazine but wasps I swat with great glee.
I am actually very allergic, and although I do sit rock still if one lands on me and don't flap about when one flies near I have been stung dozens of times over the years, no one else in my family has ever been stung. Evil little stripy fuckers

It bloody was agony, on the ball of my thumb. At first it felt like a sharp pin prick, then the pain just grew and grew. After about 30 minutes it subsided a bit, to a painful throb that lasted on and off for 3 days. This was last year, I've still got a small lump where it was!
