To think that standing by the front gate in your pants is just odd...?

Quite often when I walk the children to school there is an elderly man, maybe in his 60s, who just stands by his front gate wearing just a pair of skin tight pants (which leave nothing to the imagination Shock) and a t-shirt.

I just find it really odd and to be honest a bit creepy as it is the time when all the kids go past on their way to school.

Am I being over sensitive or would you find this odd behaviour too?

Yes that's a bit odd

Are you sure they're pants and not shorts?

BareBums · 26/03/2012 11:27

I find MNers tend to give the benefit of the doubt so maybe he's lonely or a bit past it but I'd find it creepy!

Does anyone know who he is? Maybe he needs some help? What does he do when the kids go in school?

CherryBlossom27 · 26/03/2012 11:27

Very odd... Dementia setting in would be my best guess!

taxiforme · 26/03/2012 11:44

I would have a word with the local community beat officer.

If he is standing there at school times when the kids are walking past to and from school (as opposed to all day or randomly) it appears that he may have an issue which needs to be addressed either MH or something more sinister.

They will know how best to deal with it.

I always think err on the side of safety in this case, he might think he is Napoleon welcoming the french navy back by way of his garden gate in his tri cornered hat and pantaloons but could be something a little more unpleasant.

Well that is Just creepy even if he has dementia he is standing in underwear Shock I think the advice of the community police officer is your best bet , they will look into it ,

Agree I don't think it is appropriate behaviour, and he needs keeping an eye on.

have been known to take the bins out in my bra

taxiforme · 26/03/2012 11:53

Having said that, I have just put the bins out in my pjamas and I live next to the junior school Shock

Morloth · 26/03/2012 11:54

My neighbour does everything (gardening, chatting to the postie, washing his car etc) in his undies, but he is odd so he doesn't worry me.

Does this man do this only when the kids are about?

Mishy1234 · 26/03/2012 11:57

Have a word with your local police officer and he'll have a gentle word. It probably isn't sinister, but it is unsettling and needs to be addressed.

SooticaTheWitchesCat · 26/03/2012 11:58

They are definitely pants and not shorts, they are the really tight ones too Shock

I have only seen him in the mornings but I don't go that way unless I am going to school really. He is never there in the afternoon. Sometimes he is putting stuff in the bin but most times he just stands there!

He could just be passing the time of day but I just find it creepy.
