To think that the Huggies new advert shouldn't show a baby sitting in a reclining bouncer?

Am I overreacting thinking this is really dangerous for Huggies to be showing in an advert? Surely the baby on the right is too old for the reclining bouncer and could fall out?

yabu

its an ad for nappies

SecretNutellaFix · 25/03/2012 20:13

That one is designed to be used as a seat for babies up to 2 years.

Seona1973 · 25/03/2012 20:14

if it is the baby bjorn one then it is suitable to age 2

Honeydragon · 25/03/2012 20:14

Its a baby bjorn sitter designed from birth to toddler

Honeydragon · 25/03/2012 20:14

huuuuuge x post Grin

GreyTS · 25/03/2012 20:15

Honestly, looks perfectly safe to me. I think those chairs are designed to be used as a toddler chair, have def seen bigger babies in them and restraint comes up pretty high on babies chest. So sorry but yes YABU

ToothbrushThief · 25/03/2012 20:16

YABU to want to police an advert

JeelyPiece · 25/03/2012 20:16

YABU because it looks like one of these Baby Bjorns that are ok for babies up to 13 kilos.

JeelyPiece · 25/03/2012 20:17

Gah always with the x-posts

MrsJamin · 25/03/2012 20:22

Why on earth does a sitting child need to sit in one? It looks flipping unsafe to me.

OP posts:
SecretNutellaFix · 25/03/2012 20:23

If it was unsafe, you really think it would be as popular as it is?

It will have been tested, tested again and then re-tested along every stage of the design process.

To keep them still.

StripyMagicDragon · 25/03/2012 20:25

YABU, the seat is suitable for a baby that weight/age.

Because toddlers are too small and active for the sofa, need a seat so why pay for a bouncer then at approx 8 months buy another seat.
Makes more sence to get one from birth

SecretNutellaFix · 25/03/2012 20:27

Besides, you are a sitting adult. Do you need to sit in a chair?

TeaTeaLotsOfTea · 25/03/2012 20:27

unsafe? It looks nice and secure to me.

The child would be more unsafe if it wasn't in it!!!

Iamweasel · 25/03/2012 20:28

Because they can bounce really hard and fast and it's fun

McHappyPants2012 · 25/03/2012 20:29

May recommend this to my sister, my nephew to big for a bouncer and is not able to sit up yet

Good god woman, get a grip and find yourself something serious to worry about.

That means YABVVVU btw.

Honeydragon · 25/03/2012 20:49

I used one for both of mine they are fabulous and really do last until 2 years they really are excellent.

Tee2072 · 25/03/2012 20:54

And after 2, I think they can be used as just a chair. But I may be misremembering about that, I sold mine ages ago!

FelixCited · 25/03/2012 21:08

Yes, my child is nearly 3 and still uses it as a seat-- she loves a good bounce!

MrsJamin · 25/03/2012 21:09

well I guess I am BU. That's me told! And yes I have had a couple of wriggling toddlers, I always wanted one of those flamboyant Jumperoos instead of those posh-looking baby bjorns, but alas we didn't have the room.
