im having hellish fatigue and nausea , some days worse than others liek today I have literally been ill all day shaking, head hurts when I bend down etc. just a horrible grotty feeling.
Plus my feeling of complete failure when there are household chores I havent down and another day my son has spent inside because i'm physically not well enough.

I was wondering what people thought of my taking one paracetamol in the morning to kick in as soon as possible so I dont waste yet another day?

would this be dangerous or okay??

Hoebag, I am a fellow Due in Nov!

And yes, in the Uk! I didn't wait to be offered - I asked. Been here, done this before!

I have a normalish child despite the medication haha! I have no worries over taking it. My midwife gave me all the relevant numbers to ring in this area when I was 5 weeks as I was sure I was going to need them. If you don't get any help from your GP, which you should, and if they don't, then they are in serious need of educating, then you need to contact the hospital you intend to book in. Here we contact the gynae ward, but it will vary from place to place. Gynae ward is the most common though. Or you can go via A&E. Just ring the hospital and ask to speak to someone.

Please don't feel so bad, there are things that can help!

Just a point as you mentioned Thalidomide.
Please believe that the medical world learnt a huge amount after the Thalidomide scandal. The pharmaceutical industry has very strict measures in place to ensure nothing like that happens again.

Thalidomide was the product of a prescribed now banned drug mothers took for morning sickness Sad, you wont get babies born with this anymore , Ginger is good for MS I drank Ginger ale and drank ginger tea , I had awful MS it felt like i had the flu all the time , speak to your gp or midwife about how you are feeling

Hoebag · 26/03/2012 09:44

Yeah I know thats why I get so worried , I think they were just desperate people like us who though medication for MS was a god send. And it turned out in disaster, what if something similar happened again.

ill just interrogate the gp on the risks Grin
