Shut the hell up in the morning?
Well I wouldn't say it in those exact words!
Friday is my one day where I should get a lie in, but im continuously woken up my next doors four DC screaming at the top of their voices in the room next to mine. Its ok for their parents there bedroom is on the third floor of the house so they can ignore there childrens screams. My DB manges to get up, get dressed, have a wash, take him self down stairs and wash tv below my room without me hearing a peep :)
Where as I have to listen to them for over an hour starting from 7 :(
Monday-Thursday im up at 6 for work, so it would be nice to be able to sleep till at least 8 on a friday.
Am I being unreasonable?

Is your house the other half of the semi-detached? Is it the same type of house as theirs. If so, is there another bedroom you could use where you couldn't hear them?

chocolatebuttin22 · 25/03/2012 23:07

My house is four bed room. Next door extended there house to accommodate for their expanding family. I don't normally hear them during the day or night just early Fri and sat. I don't mind general noise its the excessive screaming St the top of his voice for a full hour :(

YANBU. It's 7 am! No-one should be screaming at 7 am! I can't bear kids screaming in the house, and their parents should stop them.
I don't recall screaming whilst getting ready for school..

Earplugs. Put a row of wardrobes along the dividing wall and fill with lots of clothes [smiles] for sound proofing.

I'd be tempted to go around, knock on the door (loudly) and then ask very sincerely if everything is ok as you could hear really violent screaming - you almost called the police, in fact, as you thought someone was seriously injured. Then repeat every morning for a week, and see what happens... Wink

Having read the classics thread about interestingly named wifi(s) Could you call yours: "Pleasekeepyourdamnkidsquiet" and hope they take the hint. (Although if it's after 7am it's not really something to complain about).

I just moved away from neighbours who were stupidly loud all the time as well. The kids, 3 boys, would get up at 7 and scream the place down until they left for school. I get that kids make noise, but I'm pretty sure if I'd screamed at the top of my lungs like that I'd have been told off pretty sharpish! It is unnecessary at any time imo.

It used to really get me down, especially as I work shifts and sleep in the day, but thankfully I'm in a nice quiet place now. Am having a baby boy soon, so maybe I'll find out that it is completely normal for boys to make so much noise, but I really hope not!

GavisconJunkie · 26/03/2012 19:31

YABU 7 is normal. Don't move next to me, I'm about to pop with number 2 and my DD 2.3 does not have a volume control and is up at 6.15, every, sodding, day.
