If your life was in danger at the 8 month stage of pregnancy they would just do an emergency premature delivery of a live baby. Assuming the danger to your life was the ONLY reason for the abortion. There is a big area between the morning after pill and a very very rare late abortion.
Any country that wouldn't allow abortion after 12 weeks to preserve the life of the mother is run by people who seriously hate women. It would be daft anyway, if you die surely the baby will die with you?

I feel we have forgotten that when abortion was legalised there was very little choice in relation to reliable contraception and women were very dependent on men taking precautions at that time. Men and women were also far less better educated in terms of sex related issues. Legalised abortion was introduced to prevent death and permanent infertility caused by illegal abortions carried out in sub clinical conditions.

The world has moved on a great deal since 1968 and in my opinion it is very regrettable that so many abortions take place when there is such easy access to very reliable contraception. Abortion should never be used instead of reliable contraception. There will always be exceptions such as rape or the need to abort for complex medical reasons but no abortion should ever be carried out lightly.

I have grave difficulties when abortion is used not once but perhaps twice or three times or even more because steps to avoid conception have not been taken.
