... Don't feed the fucking deer? Especially don't throw them your left over Jammy Dodgers that are still in a plastic packet FFS.

I'd also hazard a guess that the deer don't massively appreciate your children chasing them down on their bikes, screaming.

Feel like I'm watching an animal cruelty video - the poor things look terrified Angry Sad

YANBU

I hate seeing things like that :(

Not sure why people seem to allow their children to treat animals badly but it makes me Angry

"Not sure why people seem to allow their children to treat animals badly"

Because they are arseholes.

catgirl1976 · 20/03/2012 17:41

That would it pjmama.

They really are

we went to a castle last weekend which has various exotic animals and everywhere are signs saying please do not feed the animals, they need a specific diet and pictures showing a hand feeding an animal and that hand crossed out.

There was a big family there with plastic bags full of food feeding every animal in sight.

Saw an example of this in Gibraltar. Signs everywhere telling people not to feed the apes on the Rock - they are fed an appropriate diet of fruits and veg - but oh no, there they are, tourists feeding them ice creams, crisps, sandwiches etc.

Worse than that, we saw one female with a very tiny baby which she was carrying around clutched to her nipple (know the feeling Grin) and a family was trying to get the baby off her so they could take a pic of their DC holding itShock. I shouted at them - I couldn't help myself.

EngeldinckHumperbert · 20/03/2012 18:05

I think they must be the same stupid selfish people who ignore the signs that say "dogs must be on a lead" in a deer park near me - then allow their dogs to chase the deer and their young Angry. Even though there are signs explaining the shock can kill deer Sad

catgirl1976 · 20/03/2012 18:06

Good for you carabos - that's disgusting. Poor mummy monkey. Would have served them right if she had bitten them. Hard

Wheresmycaffeinedrip · 20/03/2012 18:07

No excuse. Children need to be brought up knowing to be kind to animals. My five year old knows better than to do something like that. It's not nice to terrorize them and rubbish can kill :(

NoWayNoHow · 20/03/2012 18:15

Urgh, it just made me so cross. Then as I was leaving, I saw a bloke with two kids (both under 4, I reckon) - kids were MILES away from him, and he just stood there while the two of them ran into a crowd of about 20 deer screaming at them at the top of their voices!! Shock

He is flipping lucky they didn't get a hoof to the face, and I was just gobsmacked that he didn't even make an attempt to stop them...

Jeez - I wouldn't let my kids anywhere NEAR the deer in my local park! Last Autumn (rutting season), several dogs were killed by red deer. I shudder to think of the damage that could be done to a small child. My friend and her DH were pushing their pram through the park and were literally chased off by a stag...

NoWayNoHow · 20/03/2012 19:39

I know - I couldn't believe what I was seeing today, TBH. It was like spending half an hour in the twilight zone!

My sister was badly hurt when she was 4 - she got kicked in the face by a reindeer in Aviemore, and she was just minding her own business. I shudder to think what would happen if one of the red deer there had gotten spooked by those kids when they were actively pursuing them. Can't believe the parents just stood by. Sad

Carabos I thought you meant they were trying to take a human breastfeeding baby away from its mum to take a photo until someone said "Poor mummy monkey!"

hattymattie · 20/03/2012 19:51

I thought the same Mrs Beakman Grin
