....when i asked the landlord if I sort it out could he pay for it, he said it is my responsibility And I Quote " to look after the landlords property".
When i moved in, it broke down, and he paid for it to be fixed....I am only using it for cooking!! Is it his responsibility or mine??
I feel he is being unreasonable to get me out.....
the fence blew down on the right hand side and he said it was the neighbours responsibility-now the other one on the other side is falling down, and quess what-it is the other neighbours responsibility!!

If he supplied the cooker then it is his responsibility unless it was accidental damage on your part in which case it's your responsibility. If it's down to general wear, tear and age then it's for him to sort out.

I am a landlord by the way!

Fences may well be the responsibility of the neighbours (depends on who "owns" them).

Who has the responsibility for the cooker depends on your rental agreement. When did the landlord pay for it be fixed? If not long ago, he may well feel that you are not looking after it properly.

Cookers aren't something that are specifically and unequivocaly the landlords responsibility, so it will depend on your tenancy agreement, the fact he paid for it before suggests he thinks it is his responsibility.

ah me. it all started off ok, but its such an old property, that everything is constantly needing sorting out. The convector and light were fixed 3 yrs ago, and the light broke a ady after it was fixed. What do I need to do to "look after "it?? I clean it with soapy water, and use it 3 times or so a week. The toilet seat was falling off when i moved in, but I patched it together, then fell off completely- when i asked him about that, same thing, but i did buy new seat. ...I think he just wants to dodge anymore responsibilities-the kitchen sink and washing machine go into a soak away-meaning its actually going into the kitchen wall, and garden, and stinks! that has been 3 yrs since he first got a drainexpert to remove blockage, only to find its a soakaway.........

Landlords responsibility, we had the same problem and it was the thermal fuse or something. Our landlady paid.
