To think it is disgusting to not wash your hands after having a poo?

I have recently discovered my dh does not wash his hands after a poo. I think this is very unreasonable. I have seen divided threads on whether it is disgusting to not wash your hands after a wee, and dh seems to think there would be division on this. I think not.

I watched a tv program the other day where they announced that 92% of men did not wash their hands after using the toilet.

I once had a job in a museum doing a bit of everything, including cleaning the toilets every morning. In the ladies the basins were always covered in soap marks, dried-on puddles of water, hair, etc etc. In the mens the basins were always spotlessly clean... go figure!

Does your DH (that's D for Dirty) think that it would be okay for, say, canteen staff or nursery workers not to wash their mitts? Would he mind if the next time you went for a pop, you failed to wash then touched his hand or face?

I wash my hands, but I can quite honestly say, I dont ever remember getting poo on them... it goes on the toilet paper. I also agree that handwashing is fairly ineffectual if you then touch the tap, the door handle etc.

I was going to quote the 10 sheets of paper thing but I see akiss beat me too it! Tis grim indeed. A perfect way to spread germs.

I get what people are saying about the taps having germs on them etc, but while we can't eradicate all germs, we can do our best to prevent the spread of them as much as possible. And washing hands is the best way to do that.

Saw an experiment when I was young; someone pressed their fingers against an E.coli sample though six sheets of loo roll, and then shook hands with someone, who shook hands with someone else and so on. The bacteria just carried right on down the line. Boak.
