Shutupanddrive · 17/03/2012 17:33

Yay!! Grin

cocoachannel · 17/03/2012 17:36

YABU for your second sentence which is irrelevant to the fantastic Wales performance Hmm

TidyDancer · 17/03/2012 17:38

YABU. I'm Welsh and English. Your follow up sentence was stupid.

carben · 17/03/2012 17:43

Disagree - I think that England's performance always adds a certain something to the welsh psyche even on a Grand Slam Saturday ! History , geography who knows but every welsh man or woman will know what I mean !

YANBU ref Wales winningGrinGrin fan - bloody - tastic

However, YABU with your second sentance (btw I'm Welsh and proud of it. I don't care about any other team!!)

TidyDancer · 17/03/2012 17:52

I am a Welsh woman, and I still know your second sentence was stupid. Most mature Welsh people won't agree with you I suspect.

Shutupanddrive · 17/03/2012 17:54

I'm Welsh and will be supporting Ireland over England in the next game, and hope they win on Paddy's day. What's wrong with that?

carben · 17/03/2012 17:57

I must care coz I'm bloody watching it. Even with Gaby, Sonia and Lawrence pissing me off. I love Keith so he's OK.

dementedma · 17/03/2012 17:58

Glad Wales won, want England to win too

dementedma · 17/03/2012 17:58

oooh I've got a bit of a thing for Lawrence.....

carben · 17/03/2012 17:59

Thank you shutup - if it's the truth why not tell it how it is !

They should have lost at twickenham. But played well today.

Come on England!

RedHotPokers · 17/03/2012 18:00

YABU. I am English, with 2 welsh DCs, a welsh husband, and I've lived in Wales for 20 years. I was ecstatic that Wales won, and will be doubly happy if England win. With the exception of when they play England, I always support Wales. Why? Because I am not a petty idiot.

If you want to support Ireland, fine. But if you are doing so because you want England to lose, as opposed to wanting Ireland to win, then I think YABVU.

DH is a welshman and he doesn;'t want England to lose. But then he did marry a Saes Grin !

NearlyMrsCustardsHardHat · 17/03/2012 18:02

Oh and im chuffed as fuck Italy beat Scotland :o

blackoutthesun · 17/03/2012 18:03

it was a great game today, i fucking love warren for not picking hook for the game

i sooo want england to lose

Astronaut79 · 17/03/2012 18:07

I thank you, Kayano Grin,

TidyDancer · 17/03/2012 18:08

There's nothing wrong with wanting one team to win over another team, it's the whole attitude that you want someone to lose so badly (ie wanting them to lose no matter who they're playing). It's childish and pathetic. RedHotPokers has it bang on right.

carben · 17/03/2012 18:12

Exactly each to his own. I live in England - have an English partner (who supports Wales ) and 2 children born in England but still have no affinity with English rugby and the way it operates. I am welsh born and bred and all my ingrained love of rugby is with them and the other Celtic nations. I admit , right or wrong , on most occasions I want England to lose !

OP posts:
TidyDancer · 17/03/2012 18:14

Yes, and that's what's so sad. Your attitude is very Anyone But England.

Earthymama · 17/03/2012 18:22

They were amazing!

Having lived in England in the past for many years, very much part of the club rugby scene, I can't believe you are all so shocked at the 'anti-English' remarks, there's a traditional enmity that goes back through the ages!

It's mocking and part of the Celtic approach to rugby but does not lead to mass packs of rabid Welsh rugby players and fans searching out the English!! There's usually much banter on both parts over many pints of ale.

carben · 17/03/2012 18:23

Tidy dancer - in rugby terms you're right. But just because it applies with rugby doesn't mean it extends to life in general - although admittedly Cameron is a git - l would say 'chill' and YABU.

OP posts:
TidyDancer · 17/03/2012 18:28

I would hope it wouldn't apply in life in general. That would be disgraceful. I'm afraid this kind of attitude is not something to say 'chill' about though.

Ihavetwofaces · 17/03/2012 18:33

Sadly, I have encountered many an 'Anyone but the Welsh' attitude throughout my life - I no longer let it bother me.
