to worry about hosting a Dinner Party alone?

This is only the third time I've had a dinner party since my DH died. It's a lot more work with only one person doing it. I will be entertaining five people tonight and think I have everything ready - table set, things plated where desirable, and saucepans full with meat ready to go into the oven. BUt I'm sure I will have forgotten something. I want it to be perfect to show that I can do it.

Oh, I forgot to tell you. We got through 7½ bottles of wine (and ran out) and four beers (5 people). Good job no one was driving home!

That is a lot of wine Grin It sounds like a lovely party, all relaxed with people enjoying themselves. It seems easy but it is really hard to pull off a successful dinner party. Congratulations, you are definitely the hostess with the mostest!!!
