I started this thread

And have discovered that anyone earning over £26k will lose all benefits inc. child benefit.

AIBU to think this has been massively underplayed in the media and many will not know this.

\it is 40k isnt it I dont understand it all tbh because a news programme said a couple earning 80 combined would still get it but a single parent who earned 40 wouldnt [confused

No it's £36K or £34K isn't it due to them reducing the higher tax level.Lots of people think it's for people on £44K but they're forgetting(which the Tories aren't in a hurry to correct) the plan to bring the band down.

I'd be glad if somebody proved me wrong believe me but I'm sure that was the plan.

MrsHeffley · 17/03/2012 15:25

This was re CB.

Mrsjay · 17/03/2012 15:27

Oh so the high earner tax band is coming down ? im really rubbish at this sort of thing , Blush Our cb will stop if thats the case ,

scarborough84 · 17/03/2012 15:36

I think you need to add on the Personal Tax allowance to obtain Higher Tax range. So higher Tax band £34k ish plus Personal Allowance

Heswall · 17/03/2012 15:36

If the tax band comes down they can keep their CB i'll be paying less tax and have nothing to do with the CB department, bonus

MrsHeffley · 17/03/2012 15:51

No you'll be paying more tax+you'll be loosing CB yay!!!!!
