Not to go back to dangerous sing and story time session

Today I went to sing and story time with 6 month old DS. Towards the end we where singing a jolly song while a lady went round with a battery powered bubble machine blowing bubbles over everyone. We where looking up at the pretty bubbles when one floated down and popped in my eye. The pain and discomfort can only be described as simular to a paper cut and my eye was red and itchy for a while after and the thing that I feel most upset about is the fact that I didn't get any sympathy from anybody
I feel let down by everyone and in need of counceling

This is a wind up, yes?

hiddenhome · 16/03/2012 21:53

I think you should sue her. She deserves it. Jolly people are just annoying and have no idea about the real world and its inherent dangers. Contact your lawyers on Monday Grin

I've missed a good thread, haven't I? :(

Rogerbacon · 16/03/2012 21:53

hermionestranger

No its not a wind up

soapy bubbles can be quite dangerous.

They're only dangerous if you don't rinse afterwards Wink

LilRedWG · 16/03/2012 21:54

ROFL. At least you didn't slip on the residue and break your leg.

hiddenhome · 16/03/2012 21:56

Was it musical minis? We used to go to musical minis and be attacked with bubbles 'n' stuff like that. Twas a lot of fun and the highlight of my week Smile

Marilyn1980 · 16/03/2012 21:56

I think you are at fault, you should be prepared for all eventualities. I suggest safety goggles in future.

Tw1gl3t · 16/03/2012 21:57

I don't think it was me! Probably.

pepperrabbit · 16/03/2012 21:59

I think you should report them to Health and safety. Obviously hadn't done a full risk assessment.... i mean, could you see the Fire Exits properly through the clouds of bubbles?
Hmm

cabbageandbeans · 16/03/2012 21:59

safety goggles, yes thats what you need. And maybe a helmet, just incase the ceiling falls down?

BrianCoxHasScaryHair · 16/03/2012 22:00

I reckon she comes from the same bastard family as the twat what ripped your tabs off your cheese triangle.

Sue her.

pepperrabbit · 16/03/2012 22:01

and a life jacket in case of sudden flood.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 16/03/2012 22:06

Oh this reminds me of when I was blowing bubbles with the hand held bubble blower thingy at work and a young boy started screaming that one had popped in his eye and it hurt.

I just said to him that he would be ok because they don't sting. So he just shrugged and said "oh ok then" and went back to popping the bubbles.

BrianCoxHasScaryHair

This could be the Family that are out to get me. How true

Last week I had a bust up the the chap who works in the ticket office in the railway station in town
I asked him for a return ticket "where to he said"
what an ignorant shit he was. Any idiot knows you get a return ticket back to where you set off from. To cut a long story short I walked out in a huff

MINUTE is a var vair odd place this week.

OP YANBU. You should sue the bubble machine maker, the bubble liquid maker, the venue and the evil lady who was holding the dangerous machine.

Hopefully Kunfupanda will be along soon to advise you.

When we went to butlins all the kids had those bubble machine gun things and they set them off so much the dancefloor was like an ice rink and all the adults kept coming on and going straight over. Was rather amusing Grin

I wear goggles and a hard hat at all times I heard of a lady in bollocksville that was blinded by a bubble machine and then walked out in a daze in front of a travelling circus, the monkey's pulled her eyelashes out Sad poor woman.

You can never be to careful, you have been warned!
