To ask if you've had any problems with cavity wall insulation

Sorry probably wrong place to post. I had my Cavity walls insulated a year ago and now have what looks like rising damp in bedroom and tiles staring to come loose on exterior wall in bathroom. I had problems with condensation before getting the insulation but surveyor from energy company said insulation would help. Condensation is as bad as ever and now walls are in a terrible state Someone from company who carried out the work is coming out to have a look on Tuesday. Just wondering if anyone has had similar issue and can offer any advice please?

Did the company come knocking door to door for business claiming cheaper for people rec tax credits/benefits/DLA?

decided not to have cavity wall insulation done because it can cause this very problem. Useful article here

Ours gave us damp too for some obscure reason...
Just before we had the valuers out to have a look at the house too, it was perfect timing (not!)

Fluffy did the company who done it fix this for you?

This issue was featured in a programme a few weeks ago. It turned out that cavity wall insulation wasn't suitable for this particular property. The buiding was unable to 'breathe' and damp was appearing everywhere. It eventually ate into the woman's belongings!

I would advise getting another 'independant' surveyor around to give you a second opinion. You may very well need it removing or at least some vents putting in to allow air circulation.

Thanks half past wine. Think I will get someone independent out before they come out.
