Throw fireworks on a bonfire?

Is it? I am not really sure. They were old fireworks but not sure thats relevant.

I felt it was dangerous but wasn't sure i was overreacting.

What would you do if someone did this close to your children?

It is dangerous to throw fireworks. I don't think you need to ask. Grin

alessthandomesticgoddess · 12/03/2012 08:12

YANBU. It's very dangerous. I'd move me and my children away and inside.

bagelmonkey · 12/03/2012 08:12

Of course it's dangerous!

Sparklingbrook · 12/03/2012 08:13

Is it Bonfire night already?

PooPooInMyToes · 12/03/2012 08:14

I should probably add that they weren't really thrown. Oops bad choice of words. More put on the bonfire. I was concerned about them going off in random directions.

I appeared to be the only one who was concerned!

If someone did this close to my children I would move them, then wait to see if the twat who did it ended up with a firework in his or her face. If not, I would return and slap them.

Callisto · 12/03/2012 08:15

I would beat a rapid retreat, and take my children too. It never ceases to amaze me how bloody stupid some people are.

PooPooInMyToes · 12/03/2012 08:15

Sparkling Not yet! Grin

I was concerned last year and thinking it might happen again this year.

Shutupanddrive · 12/03/2012 08:18

What a stupid thing to do! Shock

Sparklingbrook · 12/03/2012 08:18

I think it's always best to go to an organised display. Smile

PacificDogwood · 12/03/2012 08:22

It is very dangerous.
And stupid.

Many years ago I was involved with the care of a 9 year old who was burnt after somebody threw fireworks on a bonfire. He died Sad. Several weeks later SadSad.

PooPooInMyToes · 12/03/2012 08:23

Pacific that's so sad Sad

It's an absolute no-brainer basic rule with fireworks.

Theas18 · 12/03/2012 09:05

Poopoo how could it not be dangerous to burn explosives in an uncontrolled manner!

Just have a wee think.... rockets go up and explode. THey go up because they have a mechanism to shoot them in the direction you point them, chuck em on a fire and they will scoot along the ground and blow up......... in any direction and any distance you like....... ]

Other fireworks are explosives- pretty ones but essentially the same crap that kills people in IEDs in afghanistan etc

PooPooInMyToes · 12/03/2012 09:11

Theas i did question it but no one else thought it was a big deal and said oh but they are old fireworks. Plus the bloke doing it was an older apparently intelligent and safety conscious guy who often lectures me on safety for my children. It all made me wonder if i was in fact overreacting and i felt a bit that i was going mad. No one was listening to me!
