I have horses and love the company of like minded horsey people but some of the posters there are proponents of bare foot and traditional shoeing, which is contradictory but there are people there who feel strongly either way, and there is no mention of the Poplar Park horse trials which am en route to now and so rather than discuss it there aibu to start an utterly pointless thread about it there?

I'd keep mine barefoot at all times if it wasn't for the neighbours sticking their noses in.

My horse before ds was always shod. We did a lot of road work - pita though in winter as bottom of field was very muddy and he lost them all of the time. I miss having a horse.

Some need shoes, some don't. Those who feel so strongly either way to the point of actually having a go at you are morons. Just ignore them! Nothing worse than a bossy know it all and boy are there a LOT of those in the horse world.
