To have been furious with my grandma this morning?

DD and I went into town with my grandma this morning, DD is almost 9mo, so at that stage of putting EVERYTHING in her mouth and trying to eat it.

Anyway, we pulled up outside a shop for GM to nip into, me and DD waited in the car, she soon started crying because she got bored of the car not moving. GM comes out of the shop and goes in the boot and writes a birthday card out and DD was getting more upset. So off we go in the car, good 5 minutes travelling to the car park. I get out, open the back door to get out DD and she was sat there, holding the polythene wrapper off the birthday card!!! My usually sensible and very overly safety concerned GM had given my 9mo DD a plastic wrapper to play with! I immediatly took it off her and said to GM that she couldn't have stuff like that, she eats everything, and GM replied that she had her dummy in so thought she'd be fine. Luckily she kept her dummy in and just held the wrapper.

Aibu to think this was a really stupid thing to do? And was I justified in being furious?

Yes, she's my grandma, she's 72 and healthy as a horse, we all reckon she'll outlive us, she does a 4 mile walk every other day up really steep hills

DD has one of those dangly mobile things on her carseat, and also her best friend Freddie the Firefly (the lamaze toy, if anyone knows it), freddie is her favourite, he comes with us everywhere.

Seriously? You think she could have inhaled the plastic wrapper? With someone sitting next to her?

You are bonkers.

Puff she was alone in the back of the car in a rear facing seat behind me. Where did you get the impression someone was next to her?
