...to go to bed early when staying with relatives?

Staying with DSil for the night. Dp and Dbil have gone to the pub over the road for a pint, my dd is asleep (7 months) and so are their kids

DSil is on laptop and I'm on phone and just a bit of discussion but otherwise quiet We had a lovely day at the park and both went for a late afternoon drink earlier so kind of out of conversation now.

I'm shattered as have had a bad cold and dd is still up feeding in night (bf'ing) so will be likely up at midnight and 3 or 4am.

AIBU if I say I'm going to bed?

No, of course YANBU, good night!

AgentZigzag · 10/03/2012 21:23

You wouldn't be unreasonable going to bed I don't think, your DSil will understand, you probably look nackered as well so she'll know you're not faking Grin

Hope you feel better after a good kip.

No, I'm sure it'll be fine unless your SIL is easily offended?

Just tell her you want to turn in because you have a cold and youre tired

lostmywellies · 10/03/2012 21:24

No, utterly reasonable. Good night and I should probably do the same. That's three responses now (prob more while I'm writing) - read the rest in the morning! :o

catgirl1976 · 10/03/2012 21:24

No - not at all - you are breast feeding and you have a cold - she will understand. Don't take this the wrong way but if she is tired too she may be wanting you to go so she can :)

GodisaDj · 10/03/2012 21:27

Fabulous, I love you all! Grin

Agent I love rough as fook! Grin In fairness, I've just realised DSil looks knackered too (2 kids under 4 and works full time) so don't think she'll be that far behind. We're probably both being too polite and waiting for the other to say "do you mind if I go to bed?" Smile

Night night Wink

Go to bed, you must be shattered! DSIL has kids so must understand!

FWIW I always go to bed early when staying at inlaws as DP's granny and mother have the telly up so loud watching the soaps and the heating is always on full blast as granny gets cold so easily. Oh, and MIL comments on every single thing I put near my mouth. ("you'll never lose the baby weight if you carry on like that" etc etc). It's all very tiresome. So I go upstairs when DC go to bed, with my laptop, my galaxy chocolate and my double vodka, shed some clothes and open the window. Best part of the day when we stay there!Grin
