Agreed thanks exexpat, esp this link you already posted visiblechildren.tumblr.com/post/18890947431/we-got-trouble.

And Shabba, so did I Smile The irony is I can't drag dd off her arse to any of the community stuff I do when not working full time or looking after her and her sister or get her to engage in anything worthy. But this has interested her and dragged her away from the shallow nonsense about 1D or JB, so I am pleased for that reason.

FizzyLaces · 07/03/2012 23:54

here

FizzyLaces · 07/03/2012 23:56

My dd's best pal has a Mum your age Shabba and my dd (and me) thinks she is ace! She is hilariously funny with a Jo Brand delivery.

AlmostMrsRobinson · 07/03/2012 23:56

shabbapinkfrog - must admin I was a bit concerned about the posters thing on the 20th especially as there are lots of teenagers who feel passionately about the cause and will want to get involved. It's a tricky one but if you end up in Bolton town centre with your DS I might just see you there as my little sister is also keen to go and guess who will end up taking her big sisters taxi Grin

Shock Mrs Robinson - another Bolton MNetter?

AlmostMrsRobinson · 08/03/2012 00:18

haha shabba dont faint on my account, I'm just outside Bolton down the A666 although I do venture into Bolton often to watch football and go shopping and put posters up in the middle of the night

Just wanted to add another link to balance the equation a little. Don't want to diminish any good work IC does, but i'm not too comfortable with sending money without getting the full picture. Will have to do a lot more research before I would commit. According to this kony has been in exile since 2006...

Just tried to get DS4 out of his 'pit!!'

Said to him 'The ladies are talking about this on Mumsnet.'

He scratched his head, yawned and said what has to be quote of the week!!

'Did you notice how everybody was commenting on my FB page last night Mum? Even the 'orange ones' are interested!!'

'What are the 'orange ones?'

'All the fake tan girls in year 10!!'

tinierclanger · 08/03/2012 08:25

It's great that attention is now on Uganda but please don't support this dubious organisation. Find a properly organised charity such as War Child and give them your support instead.

McQueasy · 08/03/2012 10:23

IC only directed 32% of funds raised last year to helping these children. Then rest of the money raised went back into advertising and expenses!!
If you really want to help these children use a registered charity like warchild or UNICEF. This organisation is condoning violence that may infact end in the death of these children :(

McQueasy · 08/03/2012 10:24

consider all the facts

bea · 08/03/2012 12:02

Who would have thought Wesley Crusher could be so sensible!

Hmm re-thinking now and will be sending donations to www.warchild.org.uk/

and although there seems to be some doubt on the genuineness on IC it has got me thinking and thus getting me behind war child ... so not such a bad thing. Smile

PosiePumblechook · 08/03/2012 12:20

Well one thing Kony2012 has done is raise awareness about atrocities in Uganda.

McQueasy · 08/03/2012 12:37

Posie, they may have done that but how can they justify pocketing 70% of funds raised???! (over 8milllion dollars!!)

PosiePumblechook · 08/03/2012 13:42

Well they can't. I am a sucker for a good PR campaign though.

Beveridge · 08/03/2012 23:27

I don't think a campaign will be necessary to convince the Americans to intervene, not now they've found oil in Uganda....
