My DD isn't rude and unhelpful

'Their staff are rude and unhelpful'

What a ridiculous sweeping statement.

All of them?

In my local Tesco the staff I have come across are very helpful and non-rude.

hiddenhome · 06/03/2012 19:07

Yes, all of them.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 06/03/2012 19:08

Tesco are about to build a new supermarket in a local small market town.
This town is tiny. It has a decent Co-Op which supplies everything you need plus local produce. There is a good grocer, baker and butcher nearby. These will all go out of business. The site proposed is at the riverside (just outside a national park) next to some (poor souls) holiday cottage business. This is a town that needs tourism to survive. Once a tesco opens all the local businesses will fold and the town will die. The whole town is up in arms but Tesco have made a deal with the local to pay for a new ambulance station/recycling centre and it is difficult to know how the Tesco steamroller can be haulted. There is a Tesco 20 mins away (that is fairly rubbish).

It is just very sad.

My Dh works for Tesco...he definitely is not rude and unhelpful!!! But some of the customers are.
However, Tesco, as a company, treat their staff like crap.
I don't shop in Tesco much. I shop in Aldi mostly as it is MUCH cheaper, even with our 10% staff discount.

lolajane2009 · 06/03/2012 19:21

hate involves too much emotion imo, i'm indifferent

HappyMummyOfOne · 06/03/2012 19:21

I dont hate them either. They employ lots of people, students can usually find work around their studies, they are reasonably cheap and have a good online service. Love the schools vouchers and the help they give to community events.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 06/03/2012 19:31

apols for typos I meant 'doing a deal with the Local Government'
&

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 06/03/2012 19:34

Local Council even. Sorry. I am v tired this evening.

misslinnet · 06/03/2012 19:37

The staff in my nearest Tesco are usually polite and helpful.

usualsuspect · 06/03/2012 19:40

It's not exclusive to Tesco though , doing deals with the local council .Sainsburys in my city have just tried to do a deal which included knocking a flyover down to get a bigger store.

Kennyp · 06/03/2012 19:53

I use tesco all the time and am not likely to change as they have me by the short and curlies, which i am sure is their plan, so well done tesco!!
