I find my teeth set on edge by brand names like babasling, boobiemilk, protect-a-bub, angelcare, bugaboo, icklewickledoodoogaga. (OK so I made that last one up.) Can't they just talk like grown-ups? Or AIBU?

YANBU, but I'm a grumpy cow Grin

We have a cushitush for DS. I can't say it out loud without my nose wrinkling.

Proudnscary · 05/03/2012 17:29

Boobiemilk?

RachelWalsh · 05/03/2012 18:14

I thought boobiemilk must be a joke but googled and there it is, a company selling nursing bras etc. FFS.

YANBU.

Conchita · 05/03/2012 22:03

Darn, I've just given boobiemilk free advertising haven't I? OTOH I'd be put off buying from any company with an irritating name. If I bought a nursing bra from boobiemilk I'd always be thinking of the word boobiemilk when I wore it...

you've forgotten "OshKosh" (by gosh!). The exclaimation mark in it was the killer for me. Bleurghh.

YANBU.

BenderBendingRodriguez · 05/03/2012 22:11

YANBU at all. My personal bete noire is those Baby Deli meal things. Holly Bolly's Cheesy Cauli makes me want to stab, and Cheeky Tally's Pretty Pink Fish Pie makes me want to weep.

Have just seen they make something called Auntie Anne's Sweet Sticky Pud-Pud. Now my skin is itching all over.

YANBU. I also detest grown women using words like 'yummy'. I have several friends who prattle on about the 'yummy' lunch they've just made - why do new parents have the urge to talk like their toddlers? They're all one wobbly step away from wearing their hair in bunches and teaming a Cinderella ballgown with a pair of wellies. Guessing the cutsy brands are aimed at these people?

Fair point. I meant new parent more as a generational thing - as in, the ones my age with kids aged 0-2 seem to be yummying away for Britain while ones with kids older than 6 seem unaffected by the yummy virus.

DS has an inflatable booster seat called Bubblebum. It's a great product but I detest the name.
