Sodding bloody windchimes

I hate the poxing things. I don't understand the need for them and their pissing tickling noise just irritates me. I can tolerate them if there is a gentle breeze, and I'm outside anyway but why the fuck would you go and buy a set of 3 foot long bloody tubular bells and then hang them up in high winds.

AIBU to go outside with a pair of scissors and silence the ruddy things

Do it Jareth - they are the work of the devil and should be destroyed....destroyed I say Angry

TheArmadillo · 04/03/2012 23:24

sounds completely reasonable to me.

I can tolerate most things but windchimes should be destroyed on sight

Freshlettice · 04/03/2012 23:24

YANBU. Snip 'em in the early hours. Don't forget to fray the string a bit with the scissors so it look like the wind wore it away Grin

JarethTheGoblinKing · 04/03/2012 23:27

Elastic band might get the point across better, but where's the fun in that.

We're a row of terraces fgs, and they're fucking noisy!

Imagine your neighbour's surprise though!

fallenpetal · 04/03/2012 23:36

My immediate neighbour has some, I often wedge up the bit in the middle and wrap the string bit round when Ive had enough ....LOL it took her weeks to realise it was me (she caught me at midnight LOL!) not someone playing silly beggers!

I looovvve my windchimes.

Neighbours have never said anything about them, and I do loop them up at night even though they are a fair distance from next door's garden.
Next door have a dog. I think it is a compromise as to noise levels.

SconeInSixtySeconds · 04/03/2012 23:39

I love windchimes too Blush but not the little ones that make an absurd tinkly noise, the great big long ones that sound more like low bells.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 04/03/2012 23:41

It's like a musical accompaniment to The Dance of the Wheelybins tonight. Tinkle, crash, cat screech etc

Fasten a strong elestic band round them.

WaitingForMe · 05/03/2012 11:22

Get a cat. Mine attack anything like that. If a neighbour gets some and the cats are slow off the mark, I'll buy some myself and train them up on destroying them.

Oh you may think I'm a mad cat lady but with my furry ninjas who will be laughing at the end?

Ahem Blush

OldGreyWiffleTest · 05/03/2012 11:34

I had this with my neighbours for over a year. They hung big bamboo ones right near our kitchen window and patio door (just out of reach). And lots of little ones all over the garden. Clonk clonk tinkle tinkle. Nearly drove me mad, especially as they never have their kitchen window/patio doors open.

I spent many an evening going into her garden and ripping them off the wall because we live in a very windy place, and I nearly had a breakdown. Eventually her husband got fed-up too and took them down. So now she has lots of whirring children's windmills, but at least they are quiet.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 05/03/2012 12:10

Ha, I think it took off last night - no sign of it now Grin
