To want people who are clearly ill to stay at home?

Boss has been ill all week - feverish, hacking up a lung every time she tries to speak, aches and pains, upset stomach. She NEVER takes a day off ill, and that's her perogative, but when you're clearly infectious AIBU to think you should stay at home and not spread it around to anyone else in the vicinity? I've now got the same thing and will more than likely pass it on to DS/DH. :(

I was off last July with a UTI - I was still poorly when I returned and eventually had to be treated for it on holiday at a cost of £100. I was off in November when I was sent home with flu. One more absence and I'm on Stage 1 sicknes capability and I can't afford that. I'm also the only person who can do my job so there's no cover if I'm not there, we won't meet targets and we might lose the contract.

So I'm afraid I intend to be there if I can get out of bed. We've just had one round of redundancies and I don't want to put myself at risk if it happens again.

Thanks for all the responses, and sorry to all of you who would take time off but aren't able to! DH and DS now firmly in the poorly camp with me so today has been a fun day! I've taken the day off tomorrow, as has DH (although he's not officially on a sick day, has just changed his shifts so tomorrow is a day off) - be interesting to see what boss has to say when I go back in on Wednesday!
