A friend told me about a woman she knows who has 3 year old twins and a 2 year old. Her husband works away for long periods of time. She doesn't cook while he's away - the children eat freezer food like fish fingers, chicken nuggets etc and she has ready meals. When he's home he cooks, but when he's away they just eat things from the oven for convenience.

I can't begin to imagine what life is like with 3 under 3 but surely preparing fresh food at least occasionally is important for nutrition and learning about food? I find it really odd and a bit sad.

worra you have done the right thing. Those poor kids been fed! its a disgrace.

WorraLiberty · 04/03/2012 00:54

I have no idea what it's like to have three very young DC but surely it isn't so hard to mix a bit of pasta and tomatoes together or sling a chicken in the oven?

YABU

The last time I slung a chicken in the oven it died

Portofino · 04/03/2012 00:55

At least they are being fed.

lotney · 04/03/2012 00:55

Anyway, it is clear that IABU and I shall accept your judgement :)

If you dont know what its like then don't judge. least shes feeding them. Oh bet she gives them greggs too. Oh god Shock

lesley33 · 04/03/2012 00:58

Ready meals covers a wide range of food stuffs imo. Some are crap - high fat and high salt with lots of artificial stuff in it. Others only use ingredients you would actually cook with yourself and are healthy. So tbh this is so vague as to be meaningless.

Are you Gillian Mckeith?

Or, to give you your full medical title, Gillian McKeith?

(I love that. Every fucking time.) Grin

TheSinglePringle · 04/03/2012 01:04

Linerunner isnt she the woman who looks at shit and inspects it closely?

VelcroFanjo · 04/03/2012 01:06

single yup..she smells shit and says
that smells!! Grin

AgentZigzag · 04/03/2012 01:06

I watched a couple of McKeiths programs before I knew better, and was so impressed with the bloke who refused to show her his shit that it's stuck in my head to this very day.

I think his words to the cameraman were 'I'm not showing her my fucking shit Shock'

Grin

She wasn't happy.

HalfPastWine · 04/03/2012 01:08

Everyone ought to inspect their shit from time to time ......maybe from a distance though!

scottishmummy · 04/03/2012 01:08

Gillian mckeith, full medical title, gilian , yes thank you dr goldacre.priceless
she had to stop using Dr twas misleading

LineRunner · 04/03/2012 01:10

Yes, that's her. She is reputed to have sent a pamphlet off to some interwebbery university and claimed a doctorate, allegedly, or something, and had to stop calling herself 'Dr' on the box.

She became a time lord instead.

TheSinglePringle · 04/03/2012 01:14

i have t look at shit everyday in a potty that mean in also a dr? Grin

scottishmummy · 04/03/2012 01:15

she refutes evidence based medicine, but wants dr title uses words lime consultation, treatment etc
her grasp on science is risible

HalfPastWine · 04/03/2012 01:17

Linerunner I love you for that comment Grin

I know of some people right, who instead of sleeping well and going to bed so they can be bright and fresh for their dcs, stay up all night posting crap on the Internet!!!!! Terrible.

mrudagawa · 04/03/2012 01:19

lesley33 · 04/03/2012 01:21

colonic irrigation is not suppodsed to be good for you - in spite of claims by various quacks. Save your money and spend it on something fun instead
