I have tried every NRT out there.

I normally last 2 weeks before I throw in the towel and buy a packet :(

Have you tried Champix. It gets mixed reviews, but my MIL smoked upto 80 a day for the last 40 years.. she gave up 3 months ago and now smokes 10 a week.

The only thing I have not tried

How did you do it, it seems like every time I do all I get is bad news and the stresses start to get me

Champix does get much better results than NRT, but support from a stop smoking service also increases your chances of a successful quit. In the town that I work in the Stop Smoking Service has a 55% quit rate and I think attempting to quit by yourself is less than 20%.

Good luck!!

I gave up just over 7 months ago. I used Champix. I wasn't that keen on giving up - but felt I should. I'd definitely recommend it. In my PCT you do have to go to a smoking cessation clinic to get it, but it wasn't a group session as such. Just a drop in and pick up your prescription type thing. Nurse in charge was a bit useless IMO, but I was happy just to pick up the prescription and go.
Squeaky, she hasn't really stopped if she's still smoking has she?

I know the damage smoking does, I work in a hospital. It stinks, cost a fortune i don't enjoy it. So why do i still light up time and time again

Give Champix a go. It's difficult to say exactly how it works - it just does. I won't say it was effortless, but it definitely wasn't as bad as I expected.
I've given up smoking at other times in my life, always with big motivators, like pregnancy or illness etc. this time, it does feel like forever. I still have some cravings, but I really don't think I'll go back to it. This time I know that one cigarette means I'll start again and I don't want to go through it again. I love not having to think about do I have enough cigarettes in the house to last me.
