Not to want to share every f**king electronic device in the house?

Family computer in "public" space in house I never get to use without comeone leaning over my shoulder or shoving me off to fawn over and write innane "no ur gorguz" comments on FB friends pictures/"do homework"/secretly try and search for porn/play some Lego game/step-kids play Mathlectics/Club Penguin/secretly look for porn.

Have my own profile but have surrendered that to older kids as they complain that they can't secretly search for porn go on anything for homework with the parental settings.

iphone if it gets left lying around gets used by OH as I have a 4 and "its better than his 3"/"his is in the car" he also has a good old nose through my FB (although he "hates" it and doesn't want his own page he does like to stalk his family through mine).

My network, my beaufiful green netbook that was all mine and I could save my MN/bank/FB passwords on and not worry about deleting the history hiding all the fantasy engagement ring websites private things I have browsed through.

Switched on and the favourites is full of all his fucking motoring/money saving/super saving bot websites and the desktop full of things he has downloaded for the kids.

Its not a world issue but ARRRRRGH is it just me who craves a private space to look at the interent and write my little musings about life and my private thoughts - just sometimes without hiding my tracks I always am far too chaotic to remember to do?!!!!

Thankyou thats better :)

Hide your iphone. Get your own laptop. Tell then all to fuck off. Now, have a glass of wine.

peeriebear · 01/03/2012 19:32

Put a password on the Netbook?

sensuallettuce · 01/03/2012 19:33

He got a laptop - so I got my teeny tiny netbook and he even then got one of those.

I feel like he has peed all over it. The geek. Sad

password protect the laptop and never leave it unattended.

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 01/03/2012 19:33

Put a password on your phone and your netbook and don't tell anyone what it is.

This is why I have my own laptop. DC can use the PC and if there's conflict, well that's a good way to learn how to share nicely with things that aren't MINE

sensuallettuce · 01/03/2012 19:34

I did put a password on it - he fooled me into giving it to him whilst doing something "for me" (topping up the gas or electric I think).....

I fear my OH feels the same Blush

peeriebear · 01/03/2012 19:35

Oh, and try the basic old
"DP, please don't use my Netbook- you have your own devices and it's the only thing in the house I can call my own".

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 01/03/2012 19:37

Change it and make him top things up via his own laptop. You need to get territorial and maybe growl a bit.

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 01/03/2012 19:40

You can use that lovely MN adage ' No is a complete sentence@

"Can I just use your netbook for some inane but outwardly logical reason?"

"No bugger off "

PfftTheMagicDraco · 01/03/2012 19:41

Change the password. Tell him not to use it. If he needs the internet, he can use his own. Problem solved.

Helenfellows33 · 01/03/2012 19:42

yup password your netbook and ipod. and change FB password. its funny i know all of dh's bank details and pin numbers, but we both have separate log in for fb and email etc.

i also would change it and not tell your family and watch their reactions he he ;)

sensuallettuce · 01/03/2012 19:42

I know I know....sometimes he has flown home from work (where he lives) and doesn't bring his own "devices" and I feel anal moaning Confused.

And he gave it to me ....

But seriously whats next? He already emptied the batteries out of my other "personal" appliances because the electric screwdriver had none Hmm.

sensual, then he needs to stop forgetting them, doesn't he? I imagine that he doesn't bring them home, as it's a faff to pack them up and transport them when he can use yours.

Alternatively, he can leave one of his laptops at yours.

cuttingpicassostoenails · 01/03/2012 19:56

Chop his fingers off.

fedupofnamechanging · 01/03/2012 19:56

This drives me batshit crazy. My dh hasn't connected his laptop to the printer, so every time he needs to print something, he has to use mine. The kids have decided I have loads of memory on mine, so can fill it up with star wars games. Amazing how homework looks a lot like fb/bbc sports news.

I am ruthless in turfing them off my laptop. My dad gave the kids their own laptop, so it's not as if they need mine.

sensuallettuce · 01/03/2012 21:05

Chop his fingers off hmmm its an option.... Wink
