To get my mum to watch DS today even though I am home all day?

I am 39+2 weeks pregnant and feel dreadful. I did not sleep more than two hours last night (in Oz, is 6am here). I just want to hibernate, my stomah is ramping and Braxton Hiks-ing, my bak is killing me, pelvis sore etc etc blah blah. It is also DS's second birthday tomorrow and I want to wrap his presents, get the house looking half decent as we are having a few people over.
So my mum has today off work, would IBU to ask her to look after him for the day so I can sleep and get ready for tomorrow? It feels so lazy when I am just at home anyway, but my GOD, playing and parks and naps... it just seems like too much today... But then, I should be cherishing this time of it being "just" DS before his little brother or sister gets here surely???
All of a tizz. Please advise!

Wow, typos. Should be "my stomach is cramping and Braxton Hicks-ing" etc... As I said, no sleep!!

YANBU at all in the slightest. I would love to have a second baby but I just don't know how I would cope looking after DS while heavily pregnant. I was such a beached whale when I was at your stage with DS - incredibly tired, sore, pissed off, braxton hicksy - I think you'd be mad to pass up a chance to have a quiet day.

ASK YOUR MUM TO HELP YOU!!!!!!!

You can have plenty of one-on-one time with DS once the baby arrives - it will spend 20 hours napping each day so you can play with DS then Grin (that's what I did anyway!)

Sooooo - the chances of you having 2 DCs with the same birthday are looking pretty good then?! Congratulations! Hope you manage to take it easy today.

If your mum doesn't mind ask her , I've often had my grandsons to give my DD a bit of peace Grin

You are soooooooo NBU. Get as much help as you can and rest for goodness sake woman. Hard times ahead Grin

I would imagine it would be the best thing ever to let your mum look after DS - you'll be more relaxed and feel better therefore more able to achieve things (in theory!)
Do it - don't feel guilty.

YANBU. You won't be any use to DS if you're tired and grumpy! I often ask my parents to look after my 2 for a few hours if I haven't slept x

Ahh, you are all lovely women!! Shall do then... :)
Re the same birthday - chances are definitely good!! Has its pros and cons I guess...
