to think if your boss picks you up for work every morning

that you should be there waiting bang on time or even a minute or two earlier and not be wandering down the street 2 or 3 minutes late.

I know a couple of minutes sounds petty but I loathe bad time keeping and this seems to be boardering on fucking rude because it is everyday. They are never there waiting when the car pulls up.

They are being incredibly rude regardless of whether you are their boss or not. I car share with one of my colleagues/friends and we would not dream of keeping each other waiting. I would tell them that if they are not there then you will leave.

it's rude whoever the lift is off - poss even worse if it just another employee who could be disciplined on timekeeping when it is someone else causing them to be late!

I do agree that it is not necessarily a work issue and wouldn't give them the boot for it however it is not personal time either. There is no set start time like we always start at 9am it's price work so the sooner we get there and start working the more money we earn.

Our day starts depending on the job if that makes sense.

the thing is, if you were a colleage, rather than the boss, you could say you'll only pick them up if they are on time as you didn't want to get in trouble with the boss yourself for being late, or if they aren't there, you'll drive on and htey can deal with the boss when they get in late, but as it's you, it's complex. Personally, I'd stop the lifts. Say you have to go a different way/drop your DCs/call by an elderly relative first thing/any other excuse you can think off. Make them getting to work their own responsibility, then if they are late it's their fault, not yours.
