to think that en suite bathrooms are a total

waste of valuable space in many recently built houses.

Currently house hunting and I am flummoxed as to why so many new build houses seem to have postage size 'double' rooms but have an en suite for nearly every bedroom.

Am I the only one that couldn't give a monkeys about having 4 bathrooms (to clean) and to think hope this might just be a passing trend?

As we're a two adult, no kids household, we get far more out of having a second bathroom than we would from having a bigger bedroom. We don't need the bedroom for anything except being in bed, and it's great to be able to get ready simultaneously with getting in each other's way.

They are fab. We also have a gust room with en suite, which is great for the older parents visits, as they are reassured there is a toilet free for them!!!!

My friend just told me that her ensuite has only the only shower in the house.
The family bathroom has just that ...a bath and then there's a downstairs loo.

Then I nearly choked on my g and t when she said how she's woken up at 7 am with her daughter floating through her bedroom to use the shower!

I would kill!

I don't understand the attraction of en suites unless the house is huge and the trip along the landing is long. (Unless they really are part of a suite with a dressing room as well.)

I love my ensuite. I wouldn't dream of letting my DH or DC use it though....

I love ours. We have 2 but they're a good size.

I remember one of the houses we viewed before buying ours had a toilet just in what was basically a cupboard in the bedroom! Not even a sink or anything, literally just a loo!!! Boggled my mind!

A family bathroom and a downstairs loo is enough for me.

I do not want to spend my days cleaning four toilets thank you very much!

Ah who dug this up?
