to think that Easter eggs free of dairy products should be more available?

I am looking for an Easter egg with no milk products in it. My GS is allergic to dairy and egg products. He is ill if he has any. I have rung all my local supermarkets and, this year, Sainsbo's, Tesco and Marks and Sparks do not have dairy free Easter eggs. Only my local Morrison's has some. That's all right for me because I can drive there but what about those who have no Morrison's near them?

Last year, Sainsbo's had some but I was too late; they had all gone when I got there so I had to make do with bars of chocolate with Easter rabbits on them (better than nothing, I suppose). I am looking early because I have to post it. I already have one for his sibling.

I suppose they might be available at small establishments but that would make them more expensive, wouldn't it?

Yes, I already have the other five - ordinary ones. Sainbury's had those at £3 each but Buy-One-Get-One-Free so I couldn't miss them - £9 for five so they were £1.80 each. I've just rung Morrison's and they have a dairy-free one for £4.29 so that will be the answer if there are still some there when I go over (2.3 miles away). Thank you all for your suggestions and I hope that other dairy-free searchers will have found this thread useful.

I get DD/DS1s from Waitrose ( actually MIL does as we don't have Waitrose up north.)

I also made a dark choc. one myself for DD last year. I'm glad she likes dark choc.

Also, OH friend gave DD one last year. It was expensive but i can't remember the brand.

Lindt did dark chocolate bunnies the last couple of years which were great so I could get everyone the same. They had a brown ribbon round their neck rather than a red one.

Found one! Following my telephone call yesterday, I went to Morrison's this morning and, among all the other Easter eggs, there were some by Kinnerton's. I bought one for £5.20 and it's not only dairy-free, but egg-free, gluten-free and nut-free.

I thank Customer Services at Morrison's from which desk an assistant took me to the Free From aisle (no eggs) and then to the Easter egg aisle. She could not spot one herself so went for other help, which enabled me to leave with the one from Kinnerton's. There were some Green & Black's eggs there but they did not appear to be obviously labelled as being dairy-free.

I hope this helps others who are looking for similar items.

I had trouble finding dairy free easter eggs last year but i've just found some at www.freefromforkids.co.uk and they have dairy free easter bunnies and mini eggs too so my kids will be thrilled.

sainsbury thorntons have DF and glutten free eggs , TBF chocolate is made from milk so I don't think they would sell all that well if they made loads DF they are making money from eggs
