Please say IANBU as the alternative is that I have an unusually large face

AIBU to think that 'pump dispense' containers for facial products should dispense sufficient product in one press? E.g. Facial oil, foundation etc. I appear to have a 'pump and a bit' sized face Confused

SilentBoob - that must be where I am going wrong as my moisturiser is Olay as well. And the moroccan hair oil I use deposits a vastly over-exhuberant volume of gloop into my palm on one pump and even though I have fairly long hair it's just too much.

Perhaps the problem is not so much the diminuative size of my fizzog, but that I am using the wrong products, clearly designed for people with facial and follical abundance.

When I am accosted by skincare ladeez who want to sell me stuff by waxing lyrical about age-defying properties, lightness of texture, yada yada, in future I will fox them by saying 'never mind all that - is it suitable for people with small faces?

How's the saucepan man these days?

takingiteasy · 21/02/2012 08:15

I always wash and repeat hair, I'm a sucker for instructions and my guess this one is just to get you using more product. Also explains why I've got a bathroom cupboard full of half used conditioners and no shampoo!

I once caught DH washing the dog with my GHD shampoo. There were words.

My mouisturiser is in a jar, I use a scoop!

Its minnie 50p face driver i am empathising with. Must cost her a fortune

StealthPenguin · 21/02/2012 10:45

It all depends with me, I'm a one-pump girl but it all depends on how i pump.

For example, my facewash is a simple hit-the-top-and-the-right-amount-appears. Whereas my foundation is a one-pump, but I have to press it slowly and deliberately to make sure every drop of foundation that I could get out of one pump is utilized...

HillyWallaby · 21/02/2012 11:06

I think the manufacturers measure how much is needed then deliberately make each pump contain not quite enough, so you have to pump twice, knowing full well that two pumps is too much. You would get though a bottle of something much quicker if every second pump is half wasted. Cunning gits.

IwoulddoPachacuti · 21/02/2012 11:12

I'm a 2 pump girl too.

I do have quite a big head though. I wouldn't say moon face exactly, but just a big head. Sort of like Beavis and Butthead.

ThePathanKhansWitch · 21/02/2012 11:25

Yanbu. I too, have a bucket head.

Very small face here, hardly even need a whole pump! Grin

SneakyBiscuitEater · 21/02/2012 21:02

Thanks for the replies. It would seem that I do have an unusually large face but that I am not alone.

DH is nearly wetting his pants laughing at this thread, being distinctly northern, where a pump is a fart, his double entendre meter is off the scale. He hasn't had this much 'pump' based fun since we went to the pet shop an there was a sign that read "Pump here- One pump per fish bag".
