To sit here thinking about how ridiculous we all are?

Society I mean.

Think of us, Humans as simple creatures. Think way back before cars and houses etc - when we were at our most primative. We ate, slept and reproduced like all other animals. But then as we "evolved" a bunch of our species decided they would be "in charge" and that the rest of us would follow.

Now think of the world today. We rush off to "work" each morning because we need those little bits of paper which we call "currency" in which we can exchange for our dwellings, our food - all the basics we need. Our young are shoved into a "school" for 6 hours a day because they "need" to be "educated" because the ones in charge say so. We HAVE to wear clothes because the ones in charge say so. We HAVE to pay for a fucking LICENSE to watch a "tv" because the ones in charge say so.

And TV - why do we sit there staring at a little device for hours at a time? It's so ridiculous. The whole world is so ridiculous.

Can you imagine a dog laying out in the sun and it's mate saying "woah steady on Fido, you'll burn out here" and the dog replying "yes, I'm intentionally trying to burn myself, don't worry."

It's all a bit weird when you sit and think about it.

The funny thing is, even if one of us decided we didn't want to be a part of this "modern" society and instead wanted to run around naked, killing our own food and sleeping in a cave - we wouldn't be "allowed" because that isn't what the ones in charge want for us.

It's about time people realised how insignificant we really are.

I have yet to see a social species which does not have leaders and followers, humans are still no different to other species, virtually all our behaviour exists in some form in other species you could say were just a bit more complicated.

Yes we are ridiculous, I was thinking this in the gym today.

I have labour saving devices so I don't have to work too hard.

I have a car so that I don't have to walk.

I drive to the gym and run on a treadmill to get rid of the calories I would have used.

"I" think you "may" have an ironic "speechmark" disorder there, "OP."

When I was in university and couldn't afford nice things I used to think like this.

I used to imagine a world without money. Why do we need to do favours to one another to get something back in return? I didn't understand. Then I realised that each human has different personalities. Some want to get on with life quietly whereas some are greedy and want everything. I realised that for a world to work without money each human would have to have the same personality and make and give things without wanting anything back in return.

We still are at our most primative, mostly because we are primates. Wink
But our primitive needs are still important. Eat and reproduce, hence the need for assisted reproduction. Otherwise people would just not bother.

Plus your choice of animal for an example of less pathetic beings is unfortunate. Dogs chase their tales and smell each other's bottoms. :o

You might want to think your terms about more thoroughly,,"before cars and houses"? Which is it, there are a couple of milennia between those milestones, and several hundred thousand years earlier that we started domesticating animals, and hundreds of thousands more since we started hunting for food.

I'd ask you what your point is but I don't think you have a clear idea.

humans are rediculous, amazing, cruel, kind and everything in between and beyond - if you try and think about the whole of nature - it's mere existence and it's wonderment not to mention the universe you could send yourself loopy - the whole concept is amazingly crazy!
