people like Gary Glitter and yet convicted child rapist Roman Polanski is applauded for his latest film offering?

I guess actors like Kate Winslet and Jodie Foster really couldn't afford to stand up for principles.

The man hasn't even done his time ffs.

yanbu. The support Polanski has is from rich people who consider themselves and people like them to be entitled to do whatever they like to whomever they like (as long as it's against those lower on the social pecking order). If Polanski had been a poor man who drugged and raped a rich Hollywood persons kid, he would still be in prison and there would be no support for him.

Gary Glitter is not one of them btw, rich but not part of their work circle.

Will not be going to see his latest film.

Gary Glitter has served his sentence. End of. I doubt that his stay in a foreign prison was the cushy life it would have been here.
