Ah yes the magic curtain we saw this curtain whilst fly in steerage to Florida it was whisked back and forth hundreds of times throughout the flight as the flight attendants went up and down the plane, unfortunately for the premium passengers they still had to come to the steerage side of the curtain to use the toiletsGrin

HazleNutt · 19/02/2012 11:27

LeQueen snort and tasers in cattle class :o

HazleNutt · 19/02/2012 11:32

suzie I'm not sure I get what you are trying to say. My point was that interestingly it seems to be totally ok if the whole family is seated separately, as long as they are all in economy. Even though they might be actually further apart than being seated in different classes.

I am not making any point, just taking the piss out of the poor blue curtain that got yanked back and forth about a million times on the flight we were on, it was more trouble than it was worth getting caught up in the drinks trolley and attendants routinely nearly dropping food and drink whilst trying to move curtain whilst they had their hands full I should think they all hated that silly curtain, hence the Grin face

maryz don't get me started on armrest etiquette Smile

Yellowstone · 19/02/2012 11:40

Agree. I'd be fine with the company of a 10 or 13 year old too. I'd also be fine with berating tosser DH and simpering OP when they swept through to the back on their way for a slash.

takingbackmonday · 19/02/2012 11:40

YANBU

I'd do the same. If you can avoid flying cattle class then do it. DCs are DCs, they'll be fine (and wouldn't appreciate the leg room, unlimited free drinks, decent food etc)

takingbackmonday · 19/02/2012 11:41

LeQueen i love you

Yellowstone · 19/02/2012 11:42

Excellent points Queen. The simple solution would therefore be for at least one parent to sit with Rufus.

I'd love Queen more if in her last tour de force she'd managed to spell and punctuate correctly, having already tried to do me down for some perfectly pertinent vocab :)

Proudnscary · 19/02/2012 11:47

Just to be clear, the point I made earlier about pampered/pandered/enabled working husbands has nothing to do with whether or not they should or shouldn't go business class.

I don't think it's the crime of the century to put the kids in economy. Though I probably wouldn't do it - we all flew first class to New York two years ago as a big family treat but when we go again we'll prob all fly economy.

My point is purely that I, and other women, have full time, 'high powered' jobs but don't expect our partners to afford us huge swathes of time for refueling/relaxation etc etc. It is utterly ridiculous. I get in from work every day and take over from dh and sort the kids out with baths, bedtime etc and I do exactly the same on the weekend and whenever I am at home.

Don't be silly Queen, I've no chip at all (chip about what? Confused) - that's a very feeble retort :)

Yellowstone · 19/02/2012 11:49

'pined' isn't great either.

I have actually flown business and shoved DH in economy once. My ticket was paid by the company, he did not think it was reasonable to pay 10 times more for his just so we could sit together. It was an overnight flight and I hat to go straight to the office, and therefore needed to sleep.

Was I BU?
