M & S
Should be Cajun chicken fettucine, and its actually chilli con carne.
Not bloody happy
Do you think they'll give me a refund if I take it back?

To be fair, I would always half pull it out of the sleeve to look at it.. someone has probably been mucking around in the store, or there was a packaging error. No reason why they wouldnt give you a refund though.

rhondajean · 16/02/2012 21:05

YABVU, from past experience.

Ive often bought ready meals that has no resemblance to the packet, although in fairness I think that they were actually still meant to be the same thing Grin

Lambzig · 16/02/2012 21:07

Yes, they will give you a refund. Took meat thing back that had been put in veggie version packaging back and they gave me the vege one and a voucher.

ObviouslyOblivious · 16/02/2012 21:07

Definitely take it back! It's actually quite serious in terms of labelling laws

Lambzig · 16/02/2012 21:08

PS I love that Cajun fettucine, so YADNBU

featherbag · 16/02/2012 21:10

YANBU, but I'd be hard pushed to choose betweent the fettucine and the chilli if they're from the count on us range, both of those are bloody lovely! M&S low fat ready meals are one of the things on my short 'reasons to be cheerful about going back to work' list (can't justify buying them for eating at home, but work very long shifts and M&S meals are my 'treat' on work days)!

lostboysfallin · 16/02/2012 21:19

It was sell by today so was reduced.
I really don't fancy chilli and don't have anything else.

Dh out for dinner with work.

Lambzig- its yummy isn't it?

It is count on us, featherbag

Don't take it back to the store. They'll just refund you, write a strongly worded letter to the address on the packaging, you'll get a much better result. I work in the food industry and the wrong food in the wrong packaging is very serious, even illegal in some cases, particularly if there are allergens involved (probably not in this case though). Even so, say you don't eat red meat blah blah blah and would expect better of M&S. They are generally very good and will take this seriously (and compensate you more than the value of the meal). God, I'm even more boring....

featherbag · 16/02/2012 21:40

Freeze it if you don't want to eat it! I never pay full price for them, I buy them reduced and freeze them, then leave them on the side in the staff room to defrost and hope some cheeky twat of a doc doesn't eat it before my break apologies to docs but at my work it's ALWAYS them that eat yer dinner rather than walk to the sodding shop

Had Jaffa cakes and wine

yankiedoodledandy · 16/02/2012 22:15

Pile it on in your letter that all you had was jaffa cakes and wine and it was all THEIR fault.... ah you'll be quids in!!!

manticlimactic · 16/02/2012 23:10

It may not be a packaging error if it's in one of those cardboard sleeve things. People swap the expensive sleeve for the cheap one to save money.

They used to do it with toothpaste, swapping own brand for named ones before they started sealing the boxes.
