To have given DD cheerios for dinner?

Just got back from the doctors where he confirmed ANOTHER ear infection. She hasn't eaten her dinner and needs to eat before her antibiotics.

She's 18 months so I figure something is better than nothing so I made her some Cheerios which she has wolfed down.

MIL just called to see how she got on at soca and I gave her the latest, and she followed it up with a comment about nutritious food being what little ones need when they're ill. What was I supposed to have done?

Do you honestly insist they eat what you've served when they're ill or are you with me thinking that whatever you can get in them is a bonus??

It's a nutritional step up from the wheat crunchies and chocolate digestive that we had!

Have you tried sita milk in place of cows milk? Helped mine

ds used to get lots of ear infections and would only eat yogurt and ready brek

he has one now first since having grommets 18 months, really made a difference (he was getting them every 4-6 weeks :( )

Well mine (3 yr old DD and 20 month DS) had so many snacks while out with their uncle and aunt this afternoon they refused the cheese on crackers I offered for a light tea and just drank some milk before bed.

I should have offered cheerios!

Cheerios + milk = every food group represented.

YANBU! Hope DD makes a quick recovery.

Oops! That was obviously a typo and meant sick children. :)

Well she slept all night and is cuddly this morning but looking much brighter but still really poorly.

Doesn't help that she has discharge from her eye too :(

DS went through a phase of being really bad at eating dinner but could always eat cereal so would often have it to avoid going to bed on an empty tummy
