AIBU to complain/get replacement/refund or not?

I bought ds cot bed from Babiesrus. It is the I love my bear one. At the same time I bought the I love my bear cot bed set (sheet, blanket and cot bed bumper). So was the same make and obviously the bumper was designed for this particular cot bed (although I imagine it would fit most cot beds). This was about last Septemberish. Ds just turned 1 at the end of last December. Woke up today to find the bumper has torn (it was not torn last night and did not show any signs that it was about to) and ds pulling the stuffing out of it. No harm has come to him but he could have easily been trying to eat the stuffing (he's still at that stage). The bumper was still attached to the cot and I can only assume that ds was standing and maybe stumbled and grabbed onto the bumper as he fell causing it to rip, as I cant think of any other reason why the bumper would rip. AIBU to complain/get replacement/refund or should i treat this as natural wear/tear?

I am sure that you are meant to take bumpers out by the time they can sit up for this reason and I think the packaging says that, so I doubt you will get your money back.

Actually bumpers are not recommended full stop: www.safedreams.co.uk/safety.php

cool thanks for the info, saves me from barging into babiesrus spouting customers rights and not fit for purpose and having to walk out Blush. Will have to get something tho cause he's a right restless sleeper and I hear him clattering off the sides several times a night!

You don't need anything around the bars as he won't come to any real harm by knocking against the cot bars.

ALwaysYawning, its not the cot bars he needs to worry about, its me after he's woken me up for the upteenth time in the tiny hours when i need my sleep, just because he's woken himself up from battering himself about his cot Grin
