URGENT: wibu to ask a random neighbour?

nailak · 06/02/2012 13:38

With kids in the same school as dd1 if she would pick up dd1 as dd2 and ds have chickenpox and Dh is at work?

Would it be better to do this then get a friend with no kids at the school who drives to go out of her way? Or another friend with dd in. The same class who lives in opposite direction to go quite far out of her way?

What would you think if you was the neighbours?

If I were your neighbour, I'd be happy to help

messymammy · 06/02/2012 13:40

I would do it no problem if I was the neighbour. She can only say no anyway. If she does it, buy her a box of chocs though.

pranma · 06/02/2012 13:40

I'd ask the neighbour and offer to return the favour once your other dc are better.I wouldn't mind being asked at all.

Mrsgradgrind · 06/02/2012 13:40

Yanbu, if you are at least on friendly nodding terms, and make it clear you don't expect it of her

TroublesomeEx · 06/02/2012 13:41

I too would be happy to help if I were your neighbour.

Don't forget to phone the school though, they won't release the children to her without telephone consent from you. Smile

TubbyDuffs · 06/02/2012 13:41

Yes, ask, she can always say no.

I would happily do it for someone and I'm sure it would be great for her to know that you could return the favour if ever she needed her child getting to school.

foreverondiet · 06/02/2012 13:49

I'd ask neighbour and then give little gift as thank you, and offer to return favour if ever needed. I'd happily do for someone else.

foreverondiet · 06/02/2012 13:50

Another thought is to go in car (if you have one) and get your friend to bring your DD to the car for you and you stay with the car and the poxy children.

bleedingheart · 06/02/2012 13:51

Yes, I would be happy to be asked in these circumstances.

welliesandpyjamas · 06/02/2012 13:53

Or call the school and explain the pox situation, asking if you can collect 10 minutes early? Or if they can 'deliver' the other child to the car door?

nailak · 06/02/2012 13:54

Oh good, I don't have car, and I am on hello how are you terms.

Yes, I'd ask OP and make sure she knows the full situation and you aren't asking for a regular thing. A bunch of flowers and offer to help her out is a must afterwards.

When DS was small I always returned favours tenfold liked to have more in my favour bank as you never know when you need a bit of help Grin

This could be the beginning of a friendship too OP, which is nice huh.
