to think "the playground smells" isn't reason to stay off school?

Now, I'm the last to be forcing an unhappy child to school, but I'm pretty sure this is morning cba rather than an actual smelly playground. If it was so smelly they would have stopped kids going out. Yeah?

If it was "the playground is cold" or "the children are noisy" then, well I wouldn't keep her off, but I would at least agree with her and give her warmer clothes/ideas for staying away from the noise. But smelly playground?

She's 4, btw.

Are stupid excuses a thing that every child does? Are playgrounds smelly? Am I over thinking this?

DS used to tell me he couldn't go to bed because he had a knee ache. Hmm

I discussed with breakfast club leader why he was tired the next day and she said that "knee aches" are a sign of growing pains. I felt bad and now he's about 5 years older and every now and again he still gets "knee aches".

Maybe a farmer is mucking a field near by. I live in the country so smells are common.

Love it. I'm ringing in work tomorrow to say I don't want to come in because lots of the people smell. Hopefully the boss will understand...

This is funny. Schools do smell though so she probably does have a good point. But unfortunately it doesn't warrant a day off school.

Could she just be using the word 'smelly' to describe her feelings about the playground? She might not mean it actually smells. Unless school is next door to a sewage farm that is.
